Please bring your mat and join me for yoga at The Green House Gallery with its wood floors and art. Class style is breezy and no-nonsense, with notes on alignment, sensations in the body (weight balance, tension, compression, stretch), breath, and pulling back the curtain on what you’re thinking and feeling at any given moment.
Cost: I am offering these classes to the community as volunteer service. Please consider donating to Second Helpings. Second Helpings and its volunteers rescue fresh, perishable food, prepare thousands of hot meals per day, and deliver them to community organizations for free. It also offers free culinary job training to people in need, who go on to work here in Indianapolis.
Tony’s Teaching Cred: I love being in nature, helping people sharpen their skills, and helping people unfold and unpack complicated topics. Each week, I teach two yoga classes and lead a meditation at Eli Lilly and Company. I’ve been teaching there since 2013. I also co-facilitate the Saturday meditation at An Lac Buddhist temple. I took my RYT-200 at Peace Through Yoga Eagle Creek in 2013 and taught there for 1 year.
I first caught the teaching bug when I was in graduate school at IU-Bloomington (MS Organic Chemistry). From 2002-2003, I taught three semesters and three summer sessions of organic chemistry labs and ran discussion sessions in organic chemistry. I tutored several members of the women’s cross country team and the football team during that time also. From 2004-2009, I volunteered at the Lafayette Adult Resource Academy, where I helped people with their english language skills, basic math skills, and prepare for the US citizenship test.
Meditation: After yoga, you are welcome to join our informal meditation group at An Lac Buddhist Temple (5249 30th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46218, park in the rear) for seated meditation, walking meditation, and discussion.
