Meet Lindsey Kotynski, our new intern

Updated: Sep 2, 2021

Hi, my name is Lindsey Kotynski and I am an intern at Counseling at The Green House. I am finishing my last semester at Liberty University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

I am very excited to be interning at Counseling at The Green House. I was previously a 1st grade teacher and loved working with kids and families. However, I saw a lot of trauma and emotional needs in my students that I was not equipped to help with. This led me to begin my master’s program and pursue my passion of meeting children and families where they are at and helping them grow to their full potential.

I operate from a bio-psychosocial-spiritual theory of counseling, which means that I believe that each part of a person affects other parts. I hope to work with clients that want to become healthy in every area of life. This includes working with children and families on attachment, felt safety, and co-regulation skills. I also work with women on self-esteem, negative cognitions, and overall health. Brainspotting is an intervention that can be used to target these issues if interested.

I am always seeking to learn more and am excited to gain experience and knowledge at Counseling at The Green House.
